Those who were claiming Child Tax Credit or Housing Benefit face a gap of approximately one month before Universal Credit starts after they are told that they must transfer to Universal Credit. They can have an advanced loan but have to pay this back. This is grossly unfair as they are in effect not getting any benefits for around 1 month.  

We need to let the Government know that this is unfair and ask them to pay benefits for that missing month at what they would have received before the transfer. This is putting the most disadvantaged into further poverty! 

This is still going on so we need to let our new government know that they must put it right!
