After 6 months of developing my app - based on a very niche form of assessing personalities and making predictions based on birthdates - I submitted to the Apple App Store and it was rejected based on these terms:

Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam

Your app primarily features astrology, horoscopes, palm reading, fortune telling or zodiac reports. As such, it duplicates the content and functionality of many other similar apps currently available on the App Store.

While these app features may be useful, informative or entertaining, we simply have enough of these types of apps on the App Store, and they are considered a form of spam. 

This is a blanket rule they threw out there ( that first of all is extremely biased ) and it doesn't apply to the app I created. The app I created has some elements of Astrology but it is largely based on a niche and little known technique called Cardology. A simple search of the App store will reveal little to no Cardology Apps. The app contains no duplicated information, content, or texts from any other app out there. I ask the reviewers to provide evidence that this is the case. To label an app "spam" that is as feature rich as the one I developed and unique is absurd. 

What we are dealing with here is the uncovering of biases against platforms that are considered "non-traditional" or fortune-telling - pieces of the age old witch hunting philosophies.
