At this point, this is just a petition, not a fundraiser.

Glass is the easiest material to recycle (Glass Packaging Institute), but Centerville does not provide a way for the community to easily recycle glass. Currently, individuals have an option for curbside glass pickup through Momentum Recycling (Momentum Recycling is a one-of-a-kind glass recycling facility in Utah), but a large community dumpster, would in the long run be a cheaper option and use less gas emission from the trucks that pick up the glass because one trip for the city’s dumpster is better than one trip for each resident’s bin.

Currently, I have been providing my neighbors with a glass drop-off, where they conveniently bring their glass to me, and then I transport it to one of Momentum Recycling’s glass drop-off dumpsters in Salt Lake City. In providing this for my neighbors, I’ve come to realize that this is something many people are interested in. I see a great need and desire for Centerville to partner with Momentum Recycling to get a dumpster for glass in Centerville and help length the lifespan of our landfill as it only has an estimated 15 years left (Wasatch Integrated).
