Germany, please do not give SA money to move away from coal
Why this petition matters

With the world powers pledging support to countries to save the planet by moving away from coal, this petition is directed at the German Government who has pledged a few billion SA Rands for South Africa to move away from coal.
As concerned citizens of South Africa, we hereby appeal to the German government to consider sending their engineering experts, project managers and build whatever alternative Germany suggests for South Africa to move away from coal.
We appreciate the German pledge and fully support the initiative, however, we do not believe that any money should be given to the South African government or Eskom as they have proven that they cannot be trusted and the money donated will never be used for the intended purpose of the German government.
While many South Africans support all methods to combat global warming, we are also very concerned at the track record of many countries, including South Africa in actually delivering on their promises!
It is our belief that the only way for South Africa to meet its commitment to fighting global warming is for donor countries to manage the financial aspects of their donations. The said donor can still employ local labour to implement the projects.
