On July 7, 2021, the redistricting town hall for the Augusta/Richmond County/Martinez region of Georgia was cancelled due to weather. The town hall was originally scheduled to take place at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, which was of concern to the community due to parking availability, steep inclines to the venue throughout the parking lot, distance from the city, and not being on the bus line.

As of July 15, 2021, the town hall has not been recheduled. We, the residents of this region & community organizations with members in this region, call on our elected officials to reschedule this town hall so that community members have a voice in this process.

We further call for this town hall to be moved to a venue that is more accessible (for community members with differing abilities), more convenient (to support community members with transportation limitations), and in closer proximity to the region most likely to experience redistricting based on Census data & population change.

1. Augusta University's Maxwell Theatre/Auditorium (2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904) 
2. Augusta Technical College Information Technology Center Auditorium (3200 Augusta Tech Dr, Augusta, GA 30906)
