Release of Bro. Jerry Smiley after 24 years of Incarceration

The Issue

After serving 24 years for a crime, Brother Jerry is transparent and speaks openly of his remorse and has now proven to be a superb mentor and strong leader in the Georgia prison system.  With high recommendations from credible authority figures who have witnessed the transformation of this changed man, we believe it would be to his benefit to began serving in the same capacity within the community where he will live, work, and minister.

We, the people stand with Jerry Smiley stating that he is stable, educated, willing to serve others by leading them in the right direction through demonstration of humble character.  He is willing to transition back into society with the intent and purpose of modeling christian attributes.  We are asking that the honorable parole board members consider granting the release of Jerry Smiley so that he can continue on his journey to help other men foster growth and personal development in a successful manner in society.

Upon his transition back into society, he plans to utilize his resources to obtain gainful employment. In addition, he plans to attend Savannah Technical College for CDL certification.  He intends to live in Savannah, Georgia where he will receive the full support of the church community, family, and friends.

It is our sincere hope that the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles will favorably grant the release of Brother Jerry Smiley.
