Keep the Stone Mountain carving

Keep the Stone Mountain carving
The Issue
The ongoing repeated attempts to remove the carving from Stone Mountain is gaining speed. The monument is protected by state laws but with recent state representatives in all the Southern states are winning their fight to erase our heritage and history. Stone Mountain is not public property. It is a self sustaining park which means no state funds or government funds goes into it's upkeep and preservation. We can not allow these politicians to continually remove and erase our history and beautiful statues. These statues were paid for the Daughters of the Confederacy. In no way shape or form is the Confederacy tied to the KKK or any other hate group. I am asking all Georgians and anyone who has visited this beautiful mountain from other states to take a stand and stop this nonsense that is wiping out our heritage and statues. The NAACP has been relentlessly pressuring state and local officials to either cover this carving with concrete or sandblast it away. We can not stand for that as the NAACP has no right to demand it and neither will foot the cost for it's removal. It is a protected monument and park. Please join in the fight to stop these politicians from ignoring us the ppl who elected them. It is not their right to take away our heritage let alone with out paying attention to the opposition and calls for them to leave our beautiful Southern heritage alone. These monuments markers and statues serve a reminder of what we over came as country together. That 600,000 men died for a cause on both sides. Our Confederate dead are American soldiers signed and made so by Congress. Their memory can not be allowed to be wiped away. Stand with every Southerner who prides them selves on our ancestors fight whether it was right or wrong. These things are happening because of the ancestors of millions while disregarding the calls to stop the removals of Confederate memorials by the ancestors of the men who fought and died for their cause their way of life as they knew it. We have learned from the past and these memorials being in place have taught and continue to teach the history of this country. Thank you and please join the fight.
