Tennessee recently reduced their life sentences with the possibility of Parole to 25 years ! 25 years. Some circumstances they will be released after 15 years ! My dad has sat in prison for 15 years .. for a charge the courts aren’t wanting to shine any light on. Everyone deserves their “time for the crime” but could you imagine sitting in a prison cell for 15 years and not even being eligible for 15 more years … could you imagine your mind set-Your mentality at that point. You aren’t human anymore after 15 years in a prison cell. You have to learn to do things all over again… you have to learn to adapt.  Georgia will let you serve 30 years before even seeing if your eligible for parole. I understand this for certain circumstances but some people should be able to atleast have some light at the end of the tunnel. They should have something to look forward to.
        Hopefully by creating this petition it will allow Georgia to think about the 30 years mandatory life sentencing regardless of the crime. Hopefully Georgia will notice there’s thousands of men and women of all ages waiting to be housed into prisons that tax payers pay for. If a person serves 30 years in prison that’s millions in tax paying dollars toward them. 
   Hopefully if this gets enough signatures , the government will be able to notice it and we will see some changes inside the prisons. Less prisoners for non violent crimes and lifers getting released that are suitable to be released into society.
