While we appreciate Georgetown University's decision to move classes online and to phase out the moving process, we believe that Georgetown should extend spring break until March 23rd the earliest to allow for students to move out and travel back to their permanent addresses. Many, many students have expressed anxiety over the past week and are not prepared, logistically or emotionally, to start classes on Monday, March 16th. Many students are still facing uncertainty about their plans to return home.

Considering the short notice we were given and the disruption caused by traveling and moving out over the next two weeks, we think it is only fair that the university allow more time for students and professors to prepare for this transition online.
