Help Save Womens Refuges

The Issue

Women's refuges are being forced to shut down as the funding they recive from the government are being cut and the government are not owning upto the concequences. Last year, 6,337 of 20,736 women looking for protection in the Women's Aid refuge were turned away due to the funding cuts by the government. This meant that they either had to choose between hostels which are not safe enviroment, especially for the children, or they would return back to their abusive partner. Is this is the case, why should they have to choose between those options? Why must they try so hard just to get to safetly? We want the government to put a ring-fence around the funding or set up a long term solution to keep Women's refuges open. As young people speaking up for every single victim who has or is still suffering from domestic violence, we need everyones help and support.
