All farm animals should be given access to shelter. This would impact greatly on the incidence of foot rot and would result in less antibiotic use. It would mean that farm animals would be less likely to suffer from pneumonia and generally make their short lives a little more pleasant. Having kept sheep myself I know the difference that offering shelter makes not only to the animals' wellbeing but also to a complete reduction in vets' bills. All humans expect shelter. It is one of the most basic human requirements and farm animals should be afforded the same treatment in a civilised society.
