The George Airport is the economic life blood for local business & tourism in the Garden Route. Community members are not able to travel nationally for business & specialist medical care.

There is no rational reason for the airport not to open if all health & safety precautions are in place. Airport management are failing us as they are dragging their feet in terms of filling a critical compliance position to get the airport open.

It is taking way too long to get the airport open which is having a devastating economic impact on local business and employees directly & indirectly associated with the airport. Every day that it takes longer to reopen will result in more job losses & closure of small businesses.

Our leadership are failing us and everybody is waiting for someone else to take action & simply passing the buck. There is no sense of urgency & no clear direction & accountability. There has been no indication as to when the airport will re-open. There is also a lack of transparency as to the real reasons the airport has not opened.

We call on all local businesses who rely on business & travel tourism in the Garden Route to support & share this petition. All airport staff and associated services staff please also show your support. If you know anybody associated with the airport or who normally benefit from business travel & tourism please sign this petition.

Should we need to go to court the petition will be important as part of the court proceedings.
