My family members, like many others across the U.S., have been severely impacted by job loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are struggling to re-enter the workforce and this is a situation faced by millions of Americans today. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that as of May 2021, there are 9.3 million unemployed people in our country (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). These individuals form an integral part of our economy and their unemployment not only affects them personally but also hampers our national economic growth.

We need to urge policymakers at all levels - local, state, and federal - to prioritize job creation strategies that will help these individuals get back on their feet. This could include initiatives such as vocational training programs, investment in infrastructure projects which can create jobs, or incentives for small businesses to hire more employees.
