Gender equality, diversity and social inclusion.

Gender equality, diversity and social inclusion.
The Issue
"gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world”.
Gender equality, diversity and inclusion are about giving equal access and opportunities and removing the barriers of discrimination towards women and other marginalised and vulnerable populations, such as disabled people, indigenous populations, refugees and migrants. Providing women, girls and other marginalised populations with equal access to education, healthcare, decent work and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.
The National Youth Commission’s agenda on Social Inclusion and Equity is for the Filipino youth to participate in a peaceful and just society that affords them with equal and equitable opportunity, social security and protection in all aspects of development, regardless of their gender, disability, specific needs, political beliefs, ethnicity, religion, and socio-cultural-economic status.
Social inclusion means ensuring that policies that consider the rights and aspirations of the vulnerable sectors of the youth including but not limited to LGBTIQ+, the indigenous peoples, youth in situations of armed conflict and in conflict with the law, drug dependent youth, youth who are differently-abled, youth with specific needs such as the abused, neglected and exploited youth.
As a student, I will stand up and continue to join in the growth and spread of the importance of everyone's equality. Because no matter who and what you are you have value in this world. Not where you come from and what you can do, but to what is good and makes your heart happy.
"If we want to include everyone, we have to help everyone develop their talents and use their gifts for the good of the community. That’s what inclusion means– everyone contributes.”
