A group of students in Grapevine Colleyville Independent School District realized we have no access to gender neutral bathrooms. We started asking around and noticed this was an issue at both highschools in this district. Gender neutral bathrooms are important because we have many non-binary students in this district who feel like they don’t have a place to use the bathroom. Gender neutral bathrooms also allow trans people who aren’t out yet to use a bathroom other than their biological sex. Currently we have gender neutral teacher bathrooms upstairs at Grapevine Highschool but no bathrooms for the students. Colleyville Heritage Highschool has no gender neutral bathrooms for students or teachers. We are working with students from both highschools in the district to persuade the administrators that it would be beneficial to provide all students with access to gender neutral bathrooms. Using these signatures we can prove to the administration that students in the district would like to have more representation and that gender neutral bathrooms should be added to both highschools.
