Ferrets should be legalized in California. The main argument is that they are wild animals and shouldn’t be had as pets. But the truth is, ferrets have been pets around the world for over 2,000 years!

Not to mention that California has one of the highest ferret populations in America, many people have decided to ignore the law and have ferrets as pets anyway and there have been no problems. Ferrets make good pets!

I’m doing this because my sister wants a ferret but can’t do anything about it. How many other children in California feel the same way? Make it happen! We need to let these animals be an option for a pet for kids and adults. 
If we don’t do this, then the thousands of ferrets that already live in California will continue to be illegal and unavailable as pets. But if we can succeed and get the governor to change the law then we will make lots of people across the world happy. Including lots of ferrets!

Help me to sign this petition and send it to the governor to stop with this ridiculous law and legalize ferrets as pets. It’s about time that we allow these cute little critters to be allowed in the state of California, they already live here, they might as well be legal.
