Pine Grove Conservation Camp is located in rural Amador County and is the last CA incarcerated youth fire camp. Due to California's diminished budget, Gavin Newsom has proposed to close all CA youth incarceration facilities, but this facility is unique and gives it's volunteer participants a chance at real reform.

Inmate fire crews give men and women, especially young men of color, a way to change their lives, provide for their families, better guide their children's choices and be a role model in their communities. There are reformed ex-inmates on many fire crews in the United States and they are now American Heros.

Supporting the Pine Grove Crew gives taxpayers a chance to actively support change in California. Through fire we can educate youth inmates and aid in their return society. Most importantly, fire gives young people a way forward with their lives.

Every year the Pine Grove crew marches in the Amador County parades and the community gives them standing applause for providing fuels reduction locally and for risking their lives to save our national forests, property and lives. 

Don't take away this opportunity for young incarcerated men to realize their potential. Keep open the Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp.
