By far the most famous son of the village of Windy Nook in the borough Bestow of Gateshead is Gary Firby, affectionately known as ‘The Duke of Windy Nook’ by legions of fans who have followed his boxing career thought the unlicensed, Bare Knuckle and Professional careers.

The current ‘Guv’nor’ title holder should be bestowed the honorary title of ‘The Duke of Windy Book’ by Gateshead Council.
