This is a civics action project created by a group of sophomores in the state of Massachusetts looking to see change in paid maternity leave for everyone. Did you know evidence has shown that not everyone in the state of Massachusetts is guaranteed 12 week paid maternity leave or even paid leave at all? There are some loopholes like for example anyone in education would use sick time and then apply for disability. Why are we doing this? Parents should be receiving maternity leave not disability and sick time. We are well aware of the family leave act but we strongly believe that paid maternity leave should be its own resource. We are  working to make this a right for everyone in the state of Massachusetts. We are looking for signatures to take up with the congress and other representatives in the state of Massachusetts. This course of action affects everyone in the state of Massachusetts because this garentees financial stability after a birth, or adoption. This deserves immediate action because their are so many single parents in the state of Massachusetts struggling financially due to the lack of financial help.
