Hazard pay for Armored Truck cash services

The Issue

The armored truck industry needs to change and change ASAP. We work behind the scenes to make sure grocery stores, banks and ATMs have the necessary currency to be able to operate, to be able to function and keep the economy moving. We come to work day in , day out putting our lives at risk each day. Not only do we have to constantly be aware of our surroundings but now we have to find ways to protect ourselves from the danger of being exposed to the virus. This is something we cannot see coming when we begin our shift. We cannot maintain the CDC guidelines of 6ft apart due to the constant contact we have with many people throughout our shift thus increasing our exposure. Whether we work 40, 30 or 5 hours a week, we are still exposing ourselves. We have to supply ourselves with facial, hand and surface protection. We can only hope we don't contract the virus and unknowingly spread it to our loved ones at home. We have brought hazard pay to the attention of our management team but it didn't seem to be a priority to them. They're putting revenue before us, the hard working employees. We work in extreme conditions, from truck interiors being too hot to sit in because of failed A/C during the summer months to trucks leaking rain water in the interior due to improper weather seals or sometimes operating vehicles that aren't safe to operate on the public roads putting other motorists at risk of severe injury if the truck has a major mechanical failure. We ask that you sign ,share and support our petition to be recognized for our determination to get our jobs done as safely as possible, to be compensated adequately not only for putting our lives at risk but for still showing up to work even through this pandemic. We are essential to the economy, it is time we are recognized for everything we do, everyday.
