Vasilis Motsenigos started this petition to PENNSYLVANIA GAME COMMISSION

I'm a twelve-year-old in the state of PA, and I really want a pet hedgehog. I even made a presentation for my parents about the benefits. They were even starting to warm up to the idea of it. My mom and I decided to do some more research and that's when we discovered that it's illegal to own them as pets in PA. I decided to do some research to find out why.

I found out that it was because they might become invasive, eat all our crops, and mate with other wild animals. However, they can't do any of these. Hedgehogs live in warm weather, meaning they can't live outdoors in PA's cold winters. They also have fairly small teeth, meant for eating tiny bugs. That means they can only eat soft foods like bananas, which don't grow in PA. They are also small creatures, meaning it would take a lot of them to take down crops. And last but not least, mating. They don't mate with most wildlife because they are too small, and they don't mate with other rodents since they often don't like being in pairs. They only mate with other hedgehogs. All of this information proves that these worries are nothing to be worried about. And, Hedgehogs are domesticated animals.

PA is also the only state on the East coast of America that doesn't allow them. And it's not just PA. More States like CA and HW have the same law.

I hope you agree with my petition and will help me reach my goal!
