As a Galloway student doing in person learning, I have seen first hand how much Galloway cares about their students health and well-being. So far, there have been very few cases in UL and that has been because of the effort of students and staff. If we want to keep up the trend of safety, it would be in everyone’s best interest to have everyone tested for COVID following Thanksgiving break. Although it is true that in a survey students reported feeling safe on campus, that feeling of safety came primarily from frequent testing. It seems like the amount of random testing has declined since the beginning of the year, but the number of new daily reported COVID cases has not. Recently, case numbers reached an all time high of 200,000 in one day. That means that about 1 in every 40 people has had or currently has COVID. Millions of people are dying, including elderly people and infants. This is not just about us, this is about America as a whole. If we ever want to go back to normal we need to be real and honest about who actually has COVID. Galloway, please test everyone after break. We want to stay safe and on campus for as long as possible, but we need your help and guidance. Students and adults, sign this petition to get everyone tested and keep the school year going strong.
