A "Gold Generator" is a general term that refers to any item, sold in a Gaia Cash Shop, that grants the purchaser random amounts of  Gaia Gold (Gaia Online's virtual currency) upon use.  Currently, these Gold Generators come in various forms or names and continuously revamped and sold under different guises, which are purchased for Gaia Cash (Gaia Online's alternate currency - purchased with real world currency).  The persistent sale of these items, no matter to the amount granted, are steadily damaging the Gaia Online virtual economy from the user account holders perspective.  Many find it difficult to participate in the site's unique features and forums due to the virtual economy inflation these Gold Generators have caused.  Thousands of users have been outspoken for their distaste of these items while their pleas, suggestions and feedback to mediate the problem remain unacknowledged.

To save this site, so full of a loyal community, Gaia Interactive must find an alternative way to generate profits, other than selling out the heart of the community, and regain user trust.  The entire site's livelihood revolves around participation in the existing site features that earn its users Gaia Gold.  When the ability to earn Gaia Gold has deteriorated in the face of virtual inflation, activity decreases, participation then decreases, and the site slowly decays, as does Gaia Interactive's profits as a result of user dissatisfaction.

The Gaia Online community does not want this!  Regain our trust and discontinue the sale of Gold Generators!
