Deny James L. Watson, GDC# 1112717, a Medical Reprieve

Deny James L. Watson, GDC# 1112717, a Medical Reprieve
The Issue
On or about Jan 17, 1997, James Lamar Watson murdered Beverley Callaway Watson, was found guilty of said offense in July 2002 and received a life sentence for his actions.
After he murdered Beverley, Watson disposed of her body by leaving her body in a remote, wooded area of Fulton Co., Ga where her remains went undiscovered for two and a half years. Evidence presented during his trial indicated that wild dogs had consumed all of Beverley's remains other than the top half of her skull and eleven small bones; all that was found of Beverley.
Beverley's murder greatly affected all of her family and friends, none more so than her mother whose health began to decline shortly after Beverley disappeared and led to Ms. Callaway's passing in Dec 1998. Even to this day, Beverley's family and friends suffer much grief over her loss.
During the five year ordeal, from the time Beverley was murdered until the trial, James Watson was given numerous opportunities to reveal what he had done to and with Beverley. Such information would have shown remorse and/or concern for how his actions had affected Beverley's loved ones. Instead, he exhibited no concern for anyone other than himself.
As indicated in a letter dated Feb 12, 2015 the Ga. Dept of Corrections wants to give Watson a reprieve of his sentence out of consideration of his "declining health". By signing this petition, we strongly urge the Ga. Dept of Corrections to refuse this planned release and continue to keep Watson incarcerated under his original life sentencing.
