Dear FWISD students, parents, and faculty,

As of now, all of Fort Worth is aware that the Corona Virus has arrived to our city. The Corona virus has infected over 100,000 individuals in the world as well as multiple individuals in the DFW area. Although the number of infected individuals continues to grow exponentially, FWISD is still leaning towards opening their doors to students next week.

Although FWISD has made an effort to deep  clean these schools, it is very hard for the students and faculty to trust these efforts. One reason it is so hard to trust these efforts is that many of our school restrooms at R.L. Paschal High School (and I am almost certain that most other schools in FWISD) rarely or never have soap in the restrooms. 

However, we shouldn’t simply overlook the cleaning efforts of our school district. Let’s say that FWISD completely gets rid of all the negative bacteria and we have 100% clean schools. That being said... well over 10,000 kids will be returning from spring break on Monday. Many of whom (myself included) have gone either overseas, to large group gatherings, or simply to a busy airport. With over 1,200 confirmed cases in the U.S (as of March 12th) we can only expect this number to grow at an even more alarming rate. Please FWISD, cancel school this upcoming week to keep your schools clean and most importantly your students safe and healthy.
