I joined funimate when I was a kid. In 2017 I joined the app which means I was only in 5th grade. This app has been with me through everything. It was with me through all of middle school. I made so many memories with making friends, getting features, getting lits, and finally getting my star in September of 2019 and making my star video. But funimate decided to throw something at beta testers (including myself at the time when I was one) in the fall of 2019. It was something new. I thought it was cool but it was a hard way of editing. I didn’t like it and I preferred how funimate originally was. As beta testers we test our effects before they come out and we give our opinion to funimate. Lots of beta testers including myself told funimate we don’t like this new update. Funimate said ok because they said they value their communities opinion which is the biggest lie ever. They went through with the update and so many funimaters quit. The ones who made the app popular all quit. If they never joined funimate they would have probably made it no where. I pretty much came to terms and accepted what happened and for a year I tried editing with the new stuff but it wasn’t fun, it was hard, it was stressful cuz it seemed like everyone was competing on who could be the most advanced editor, and it wasn’t funimate. Funimate was a fun, unique, original app. Yes it has always been an editing app but it was a different kind of editing app. It was different from every other editing app on the planet. But now it’s like one of those apps that’s trying to be video star but is just a knock off version. They are like every other editing app which doesn’t make funimate special anymore. They have also made other changes to the app. We used to have daily challenges that funimaters would come up with, there used to be different feeds for features and lits, and one personally that I’m upset about it that there used to be a funstar page but now there isn’t. A lot has changed and I miss the old funimate. I miss my home. I know the community of funimate is big now and not everyone will be happy if they change back to the way they used to be so let’s compromise to make everyone happy. Please funimate bring back the way the text used to be before the update, bring back touch magic, and bring back the funstar page. But you guys can keep the key frames and all the other advanced editing stuff but please bring back what I’m asking for right now. Be the app that made funimate funimate. Be the app the stood out against the other apps. Don’t try to be like every other app.
