Fund the Rowdy Project for at-risk youth, foster kids and teens who desire a chance

The Issue

On April 10, 2025, the world lost not just a vibrant soul but a beacon of hope for many young individuals in Riverside. Rowdy, at just 30 years old, was found dead in La Sierra Park — a homeless woman deprived of the support and resources she generously offered others. Rowdy's life, filled with kindness and selflessness, was a guiding light for numerous children. She gave away her last dime, not because she had plenty, but because she believed in hope and potential.

This petition aims to honor Rowdy's legacy by funding the Rowdy Project, an initiative dedicated to supporting at-risk juveniles and foster youth in our area. Many of these young lives are filled with dreams of music and sports, ambitions that might never see the light of day due to financial constraints. But what if we could change that narrative?

By providing funds for uniforms, studio sessions, and a variety of essential resources, the Rowdy Project will offer these children more than just equipment; it will create opportunities and instill hope. It's a chance to remember Rowdy through the dreams she cherished and give every child the support she never received.

Here's the reality: thousands of young individuals lack the financial means to indulge in their passions. According to national statistics, over 400,000 children are in foster care, with a significant portion residing in California's juvenile systems. These youths often face circumstances devoid of emotional support and constructive outlets, leading them down precarious paths.

The Rowdy Project is not just a charitable endeavor—it's a lifeline. By investing in these children’s futures, we combat homelessness, reduce juvenile delinquency, and propel them toward self-sustaining futures that Rowdy envisioned for them. Your signature on this petition could be the first step in transforming despair into hope and honoring a woman who never hesitated to place others before herself.

We urge community leaders, philanthropists, and policy-makers to allocate necessary funding towards this impactful project. Let's build a legacy in Rowdy's name that continues to give back, support, and nurture those she cherished so deeply. Please sign this petition to make the Rowdy Project a reality and carry her spirit forward.
