NAU parking revenue increased 3.9% from the fiscal year 2022-2023. From 2021-2022, parking revenue increased 26.4%. In 2021, NAU’s parking revenue was $618,598, which is 2/3’s of the revenue from before the pandemic.  In the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, NAU describes the year of the pandemic. From 2022-2023 NAU made a revenue of $813,402.28 - close to One million dollars. In 2016-2017, NAU issue almost 25,000 citations; 5000 of those were within one month. This generated $714,560 in fines. This doesn’t include the parking passes sold that school year. 

Staff and Students are sick of being taken advantage of by the apathetic business that is NAU Parking Services. They think of the people that make up the core of the University as an opportunity for profit, and they use their expensive parking fines and expensive parking permits as the means to do so. When asked if she’d be able to afford the ridiculous fines imposed by the university, Darby Garcia, the assistant director for NAU Parking Services since the 90’s, stated that she wouldn’t. Every single review on Google for the NAU Transit Service are one star.
