The recent announcement by Florida State University's President Thrasher that FSU will host in-person graduation ceremonies in the Spring 2021 was a shocker to my fellow classmates. On February 8th, 2021 our class received the following disappointing news: "To ensure the health and safety of you and your loved ones, the decision has been made to host a virtual graduation ceremony." 

To make matters even more upsetting, while the announcement did in fact include the College of Medicine under the schools who are hosting in-person graduation, it is for "undergraduates and Doctor of Philosophy students only." 

Let's also not forget that the Doctor of Medicine students are one of the only groups among the graduating students that are fully vaccinated at this point. 

Please sign this petition if you believe that the FSU College of Medicine Class of 2021 Doctor of Medicine students deserve an in-person graduation like the rest of the College and the University!
