We, the undersigned residents of Newtown Township, respectfully petition the Board of Supervisors to explore acquiring the eastern half of Campus Boulevard for public use. The anticipated redevelopment of this area presents a unique opportunity for the Township to create a continuous public space from Drexel Lodge Park to Gable Park.

A unified public corridor would:

• Provide new areas for recreation and community activities
  
  
• Offset the massive loss of green space as the north side of Route 3 is developed
  
  
• Protect adjacent neighborhoods from development projects that could negatively impact residents’ quality of life.
  
  
• Help mitigate traffic congestion on West Chester Pike and Bishop Hollow Road if the entire business park is redeveloped
  
  
• Help mitigate storm water runoff on West Chester Pike and Bishop Hollow Road if the entire business park is redeveloped
