The Issue

My name is Lawrence Espinosa, and I am a Filipino teacher working in an international school. Every day, I see firsthand how social media is changing our children, and not for the better.

In my classroom and in my community, I see kids as young as ten years old who are losing their focus, their sleep, and their confidence. I have seen how a single post can lead to weeks of bullying, and how the pressure to look perfect online is causing a quiet crisis of anxiety and depression among our youth.

As a teacher, I try my best to guide them, but the digital world is too big and too fast for any one person to police. We are at a point where parental guidance is no longer enough to fight against platforms that are designed to keep children addicted.

I am starting this petition to support House Bill 3821 and other laws that seek to ban social media for children under 15 in the Philippines. This isn't about taking away their fun. It is about protecting their mental health, their safety, and their right to grow up without the heavy weight of the internet on their shoulders.

Our children deserve to be students and kids first, not "users" or "followers."

Please sign this petition to show our leaders in Congress that we want a safer, healthier future for every Filipino child.
