George Wade Bigner invented the Funyun in 1969 while working for Frito Lay. I had never heard of George Bigner until general curiosity caused me to look up who invented Funyuns. George unfortunately passed away in 2015, leaving behind his 3 children and his memories as his legacy. I believe George deserves more than this, and he should be given the proper recognition for providing us with not only the most fun snack to eat, but Frito Lay’s best chip. Please help me in honoring George’s creation, and having the world remember his name and face anytime they eat a delicious bag of Funyuns.
