Please note:  This petition is for residents of Friendship or New Hill only.    

The Friendship and New Hill Communities, situated between I540, Old US 1, New Hill Holleman Road, and US 1, provided community feedback to three proposed land use maps on Wednesday, March 26, 2024 to the Town of Apex. While many neighbors agreed with the town’s vision to preserve our rural character, none of Town's proposals adequately safeguarded the community from incompatible development.  

In response, the community has created its own proposal for the land use map and is petitioning for the creation of a "Historical Farm Overlay District". The district aims to protect the area's culture, aesthetic and unique characteristics, allowing urban farms, mini-farms, and rural properties to thrive within context sensitive development.
