Many of us witnessed the public treatment of Father John over a clearance issue— swift accusations, public statements, humiliation, and damage to his reputation before facts were fully understood.
Yet now we learn that another priest in the Diocese of Greensburg, accused of serious sexual crimes, was allegedly known to diocesan leadership months earlier, and the public was not immediately notified in the same urgent and public manner.
This disparity is deeply troubling.
If the diocese believed immediate public transparency was necessary in Father John’s case, then why was that same standard not applied when allegations involved potential crimes against vulnerable individuals? If diocesan leadership had knowledge in March, why were parishioners, families, and the faithful not informed immediately?
Justice cannot depend on who is accused.
Accountability cannot be selective.
Public outrage cannot be reserved for some while silence protects others.
The faithful deserve answers.
We deserve consistency.
And above all, we deserve leadership that applies the same moral standards equally — especially when the safety of others and the integrity of the Church are at stake.
God bless you, Father John.
We won’t stop until you get justice.
