Father John, our beloved shepherd and friend, passed away last evening.
As our dear friend Meg Schiffler posted on the Facebook site "Friends of Father John Moineau", could there have been any better readings at mass today?!
The readings spoke of:
- How God hears the prayers of the lowly (Sirach)
- Of competing well, finishing the race, and keeping the faith (2 Timothy)
- "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted" (Luke)
Let us always treasure our memories of/with Fr. John and do our best to make him proud. Let us live out our faith and treat others as we would wish to be treated. And let us pray for the same love and devotion from our clergy that we have always received from Father John.
We know that we have gained another angel, if not yet another Saint, in Heaven to advocate for us.
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."
May God bless every one of us, chris
