Fresno County Unified School District, Do Remote Learning Until Pandemic is Over!
La causa
If administration doesn't protect student's safety, they will have blood on their hands.
Do the right thing and think about public health instead of treating education like some kind of cold, exploitative business that doesn't care whether its constituents live or die.
In the 2021-2022 school year, Fresno Unified School District helped enable a total of 2329 students to test positive for COVID-19. 914 staff members have also been infected.
That is a total of about 3243 households that have been affected by the virus. 3243 individuals could have passed on a deadly pathogen to their loved ones. There is the lives of tens of thousands of people at stake.
YET THIS ADMINISTRATION IS CHOOSING TO NOT TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION.
In case we need a refresher, COVID-19 is a deadly airborne virus that has brought the entire world to its knees. FUSD does not seem to want to acknowledge that fully.
We know that health and safety guidelines imposed by any system can be life-saving and important. However, the risk of exposure should have never been there in the first place. We are asking students to follow mask and vaccine mandates when we could just reduce the risk almost completely by having classes remotely until the pandemic subsides.
It is an unfortunate reality to deal with the mental health effects and the stunting of emotional and social growth for students. At the same time, it is in our power as educators to do everything we can for their safety and overall well-being.
I also hope that FUSD has not forgotten about their disabled, immunocompromised students who cannot afford to contract the virus.
Once again, do the right thing!
The people will not stand for any further harm towards students and their families!
