Over 500 students were told the night before move-in day that they would be spending weeks in inadequate, temporary accommodation due to the failure of Niveda to complete the building on time. Fresh student living are now demanding full rent despite the fact that the full amount of facilities advertised when signing the contract are still not available to this date. Since moving into the building there have been numerous faults with hot water, flooding and lighting. The company have offered 2 weeks free rent, and are refusing to listen to their residents and negotiate further. We find this inadequate and would like discounted rent for the weeks where some facilities are unavailable, and free rent for the entirety of the time spent in alternative accommodation. The stress and inconvenience we have been put through is unacceptable. This is not our fault and not our problem, we should not have to pay for it.
