Fresh Start For Nicholas Allen - compensation for wrongful conviction

Fresh Start For Nicholas Allen - compensation for wrongful conviction
The Issue
Nicholas Allen, a wrongfully convicted immigrant, is seeking your help. In 2011, Nicholas was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Nicholas had inadequate resources to properly defend himself in the case built against him by the District Attorney of New York City, who was looking for a speedy conviction. Despite the lack of evidence, inconsistent testimonies, and mistaken witness identification, Nicholas was still tried and convicted. The initial mistrial proves that there were many holes in the case built against Nicholas. Some important details of the case that called for an initial mistrial are as follows, according to a key witness the assailant had a tattoo on their neck, Nicholas has no tattoos. And the cell phone that could prove his whereabouts that evening, and potentially exonerate him, was conveniently lost by the NYPD. After the unjust investigation by the New York City DA’s office, Nicholas is finally at the last stretch of his sentence. Nicholas is currently awaiting his release in this coming December 2023, when he will be deported back to his unfamiliar place of birth in Jamaica.
Today, our goal is to exonerate Nicholas so he can have a clean record giving him unlimited opportunities after his deportation. We are also raising funds for Nicholas to reestablish his life on https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-nick-pay-monthly-bills-after-deportation?utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer
The funds will aid in providing Nicholas a new start either here in Jamaica. This fund would cover the estimated cost of housing, food, attire, living expenses, transportation, communication/utilities, emergency, potential visa legal fees, and disaster relief savings for about a year. Nicholas has spent all of his adult life in prison. Your help would give Nicholas a chance to get situated before embarking on his journey after incarceration. Though convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, Nicholas has shown patience, perseverance, and poise about starting a new life. He is untethered to the disadvantages and set back this situation has caused in his life and is still hopeful and grateful. Let’s clear his name and give him the fresh start he deserves!
