Price Chopper at Jane & Sheppard is planning to close. Many low income families and senior citizens depend on Price Chopper to provide great priced food. Forcing residents of Jane & Sheppard to shop somewhere else will take away from food budgets as the nearest grocery stores will force citizens to pay extra for bus rides and taxis. The store is always busy and a staple of the community. The store is closing because corporate does not want to change it to a Fresh Co because of the size and the unwillingness of the landlord to expand the store. Please do not close this location as it will be devastating to those in the area who are already living on fixed food budgets and are not able to travel distances to buy groceries.
