On December 01, 2016, former Pennsylvania Innocence project staff investigator Zach Stern uncovered further exculpatory evidence. In his witness interview report he quoted a man who stated that he overheard states witness James Davis confess to being the lookout when "Pete," or Raheem Shackleford, robbed, shot and killed Mr. John Young Su Kang. The witness lived approximately two blocks from where states witness James Davis lived and where the murder occurred. He was very familiar with Davis and the other players in the case. One day soon after the murder he was walking up the street and saw Davis with some guys, one named Malik and he was talking about the shooting. He said that he was keeping an eye out on the area for Pete and couldn't believe that Pete actually shot and killed the man. The witness also knew of the motive behind the murder. John and other employees at the salt and pepper store kicked Pete out of the store in days prior and they had also made fun of him in the process. Pete had also robbed a man named Abdul and Abdul was trying to get revenge and had snit at Pete around this time. Pete was trying to get money quickly to get out of the area, because he was afraid of Abdul and he wanted to get revenge on John and his store for treating him badly. The preceding was all according to the witness interview report taken by former Pennsylvania Innocence Project Staff Investigator. This is another piece of evidence that not only removes me from the scene but also identifies the states main witness as actually one of the men who participated in the crime that killed Mr. John Young Su Kang. This means that not only have I spent twenty-four years falsely incarcerated, but that justice for Mr. Kang has NOT been had. Up next, more exculpatory evidence.
