On November fifteenth, 2017, former Innocence Project staff investigator Zach Stern interviewed a man who provided exculpatory evidence and provided leads to other witnesses. Mr. Sterns witness interview report says. "Mr. _____ essentially told me everyone in his neighborhood knows that Tyree Wallace is innocent. " Mr.___ says, " that everyone in the neighborhood (17th and Ellsworth area) discussed this case and everyone knew Davis (who was the state's main witness) and Shackleford were responsible for the death of Mr. Kang. " ____ had a conversation with states main witness Davis where Davis admitted the whole story to him. " Shackleford had been nagging Davis for a week to be the lookout for a robbery and shooting he wanted to commit of John. " " Shackleford was known as an aggressive person and Davis was not, so it was not surprising to _____; that Davis went along. On the night of the shooting according to the witness Shackleford shot John, and Davis ran from the scene. This witness went into further detail and remains adamant that I had no involvement in the killing of Mr. Kang and that the witness used to convict me was in fact involved in the crime. This witness also pointed out multiple other people who have similar stories to tell. This statement is one of many direct pieces of evidence that together prove my innocence.
