HELP US MOBILIZE SIGNATURES OF SUPPORT FOR THE HLF5!

Support the campaign to free Shukri Abu Baker and Ghassan ElAshi, two of the last five Palestinian men from the Holy Land Foundation who remain wrongfully imprisoned for building schools and hospitals and providing humanitarian aid to orphans and vulnerable communities in Palestine, the U.S., and other parts of the world.

Over a decade ago, these men co-founded the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) in 1989,  once the largest Muslim charity in the United States, until it was shut down in December 2001  by the Bush administration as a result of Zionist pressure and the post-9/11 “War on Terror” targeting Arabs and Muslims.

In 2008, these five Palestinian men were wrongfully convicted on false charges of “material support to a foreign terrorist organization.” The trial is likely the first in U.S. history that had an anonymous  expert witness—an Israeli intelligence officer—violating the HLF5's constitutional right to confront the witness by cross-examining them.

Human Rights Watch, along with several human rights organizations have raised concerns over the fairness of the trial. Legal experts and scholars have continuously pointed to the lack of transparency and due process. Most compellingly, the evidence that led to convictions was predominantly secret and anonymous.

Community leaders, activists, and families across the globe are uniting to demand the U.S. government immediately release Shukri and Ghassan and to exonerate the Holy Land Foundation Five. These men are heroes, not criminals. They embody the spirit of selfless giving, having transformed thousands of lives through their work.
