Petition to Expose Corruption and Restore Community Rights in Gary, Indiana   
We, the people, are calling for justice and transparency in the City of Gary. For three years, I have poured my own time, money, and energy into creating a community event that the city eagerly looks forward to each year—without any financial support from the city itself. Despite my efforts to bring unity and positivity, I’ve been met with resistance, defamation, and what appears to be blatant corruption.   
This year, after initially receiving approval for the event, I was suddenly and unfairly denied—with no clear reason, no documentation, and no access to the alleged crime report that’s being used against us. A state-elected official has gone so far as to defame the event publicly, and now I’ve been informed that we will receive no police protection from GPD, despite this being a legal and peaceful gathering.   
This is not just about one event—it’s about the rights of every tax-paying citizen in Gary. Many of us struggle with unfair permit denials, red tape, and a system that seems designed to hold us back rather than uplift us. I’ve reached out to the mayor, my district councilwoman, and others in power, only to be ignored or dismissed.   
By signing this petition, you are standing against injustice and helping to restore a vital community tradition. You are saying no to corruption and yes to community, fairness, and the right to gather without fear. We are calling on city officials to:   
Reinstate the permit and support for the event;
Release all documentation regarding the false crime report;
Investigate potential misconduct by elected officials involved;
Respect and protect the rights of all citizens equally.
