Hi, my name is Sage. I am one of the many exotic pet owners in the city of Owen Sound. I own multiple ball pythons and lizards, all are extremely docile and friendly. I want to fight for exotic animal owners to have equal rights as dog and cat owners. Why do our animals have to be caged and can't enjoy the sunshine? Our animals are more secure in our hands and neck then most dogs are on leashes. Our animals don't get loose or bite. They deserve to enjoy the sunshine just as much as everyone's dogs. Fear of an animal is no excuse to stop them from enjoying life. Please sign our petition to help fight for the rights of exotic animals and their owners.  It's 2026, it's time to move on from the misinformation spread about exotics. Ball pythons are less likely to cause a disturbance because they are on their person. All animals deserve equal rights to the outside world. Owen Sounds keeping certain animals bylaw specifically targets exotic species.  I'm fighting for the rights of all animal owners to be allowed to bring their animals outside. The bylaw is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. If the animal is secure in your hands or on your neck its less likely to get away then your average dog on a leash. All animals should have equal rights to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. There's no excuse, species discrimination is not ok.
