We the people sign this petition to demand the permanent dismissal of Rikus Niemann as a teacher at Ficksburg High School. 

This is a man ...

... who uses fear and intimidation as his only means of interaction with learners,

... who insults learners based on race,

... who insults learners based on sexual orientation,

... who has physically assaulted learners of both genders,

... who has thrown desks in anger with learners nearby,

... who has intentionally walked in on girls changing in their dressing room,

... who has shown up to school and school functions reeking and clearly under the influence of alcohol,

... who shamelessly smokes in the presence of learners,

... who has been accused of and gotten away with rape,

... who has been accused of, reprimanded for and gotten away with sexual harassment,

... who has been accused of and gotten away with sexual assault,

... who uses tactics of intimidation, harassment and threats towards those who he believes have wronged him,

... who believes himself to be untouchable and above legal recourse as well as the laws of common human decency.

Despite all of the above Mr Niemann is still employed at Ficksburg High School, where his reign of terror continues without consequence.

It is imperative that we stand together and reclaim our school from Mr Niemann's cruelty and management's proclivity towards inaction. It is up to us to rebuild Ficksburg High School where a safe environment based on mutual respect and understanding is fostered to instill a learning culture and adequately prepare us for the future without our dreams and goals being shattered by one man who continuously faces no consequences for his actions. We must stand up and fight to re-create a secure school milieu that learners as well as teachers do not fear and dread returning to on a daily basis.

If you possess any information of inhumane treatment, discrimination, acts of violence or intimidation of any form at the hands of Mr Niemann, contact us at the email address provided below. With your permission we will compile this information into an affidavit, send it to you to be affirmed by a commissioner of oaths such as a police officer, attorney or notary public, upon which we request you once again forward it to us. We will then ensure that your statement is submitted to the relevant authorities.
