The owner of these three beautiful dogs stood crying in front of their cages, apologizing to dogs that they were locked up and not at home safe with her. All three dogs were impounded at the HIGH KILL San Bernardino City Shelter due to an error by the local police.

Colleen was moving into her house a day earlier. Her new neighbors called police thinking suspicious activity was going on in the empty house, not knowing she was renting the home. Police came onto the property through backyard. They broke the gate lock. The backyard has two fences, chain link and wood.The police left the gate open and the dogs ran out of the yard.

Police confirmed Colleen's family had moved in and then Colleen realized her dogs were missing from the property. It took her hours to find her dogs. Animal Control then came by and said one of the dogs bit someone. All 3 were then confiscated by San Bernardino City Shelter Animal Control. Colleen was told that the dogs were put in a 10 day Quarantine and she will be charged a daily boarding fee to get her dogs back once this quarantine was complete. The costs to "bail" her dogs out of this KILL SHELTER will be over $1000.

Colleen has just now found out that this is now a court case. She now needs to pay for legal fees to get her dogs back. The Lexus Project, which helps animals in situations like this, will cost about $500.

Colleen's family truly loves these dogs, they are her babies and obviously they love her. She needs financial assistance to save the lives of her dogs. All of this is of no fault of the owner.
