This is Youth Advocate Joe "Loyalty" Morris.

He went to prison at a young age in Franklin County. Like so many young men from our communities in Ohio, he made mistakes early in life and has paid a heavy price for them in State v. Morris.

What makes Joe "Loyalty" Morris different is what he's done SINCE.

From inside Ross Correctional Institution, Joe "Loyalty" Morris has become known for giving back - mentoring at-risk youth, speaking out against violence, and encouraging young people to make better choices than he did.

Our kids don't need another lecture. They need someone who has lived it, who is honest about his mistakes, and who is determined to help the next generation avoid the same path. That is who Joe "Loyalty" Morris is.

He has taken responsibility. He has grown. He has a strong support system waiting for him here in Franklin County ready to help him work, re-enter, and continue his outreach.

We are not asking the Court to excuse the past. We are asking the Court to recognize rehabilitation.
