Free Ishuba Salmon from Unlawful IPP Detention

Free Ishuba Salmon from Unlawful IPP Detention
The Issue
Ishuba Salmon who is 43 years old, was previously sentenced to 4 years and 5months Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) in 2007. He was finally released on 3rd September 2018 following a campaign by his family, having served 12 .5 years which was 3 times his original tariff.
Ishuba has worked since being released and was getting on with his life. He was a Personal Fitness Trainer and attending University studying Computer Technician.
Following an Incident in Handsworth Birmingham on 23rd December 2019, Ishuba was arrested on 4th February 2020 and returned to prison on 6th February 2020.
Ishuba was held on remand until a court case on 7th January 2021 at Birmingham Crown Court he was found not guilty and later on in turned out to be mistaken identity.
Following the not guilty verdict he was returned to prison as an IPP licenced offender and has been incarcerated for the past 33 months having not been convicted of anything and the Parole Board is not prepared to release him based on perception and not the facts as established in the case at Birmingham crown Court, being that he has not been convicted of a crime nor has he committed one.
Ishuba has been a model inmate working in Chaplaincy and the prison garden.
He has spent the past 3 years in prison away from his family including his 15-year-old daughter, that he only properly met for the first time in 2018 when he was released.
Please support this petition in requesting Ishuba Salmons release from this unlawful detention and do bear in mind that IPP sentences were scrapped in 2012.
Ishuba has had a parole application rejected in October 2021 and is currently awaiting a further hearing for the past 9 months, for which no date has been given as yet.
Ishuba and his family need your support.
Please sign this petition supporting his release from this unlawful detention.
