Hideki Taniuchi was one of the creators of Death Note music. He was arrested for possession of Marijuana in 2012. But there is no information available about his current status. 

It seems that he may be rotting in prison since 2012 or something even worse.

Furthermore it is a fact that Marijuana is legal in several countries in the world. Though Marijuana is illegal in Japan, it makes no sense for a person to be imprisoned for more than 10 years, when criminals(assassins) and gangsters(Yakuza) responsible for murders roam freely on the streets of Japan.

There is a chance that Hideki Taniuchi might have angered 'those in power' in Japan and thus faced their retribution, as this generally happens within the music and entertainment industry.

Hence the objective of this petition is to free or help Hideki Taniuchi.

Nevertheless it should be the duty of the Anime Community to atleast sign this petition.
