This is a serious problem in Wa state and needs attention brought to it. I committed a crime in 2009 and was sentenced to 162 months. My friend Gregory Sharkey Jr. was with me along with me and one other person. Both of us are white and she got 77 months for her false testimony on the stand to help convict Gregory. There was no evidence against him just that of a false testimony. Gregory was sentenced to almost 200 years in prison. Why is it that the two white people who actually committed the crimes got a lesser sentence and are now FREE than the one black man? Larry Haskel’s office is involved in this sentence and for those of you that don’t know his wife was found to be a supporter of the proud boys and posting racial slurs on the internet. If his wife is involved with this and supports this movement than it’s almost guaranteed he does too. How can you have someone like this holding power with others lives. This needs to change and resentencing for Gregory Sharkey Jr. and others needs to be brought to the light. Only we as a tired community of racial injustice can come together and make a difference for those we know or even those we don’t know who are locked up or fighting an unfair battle against crooked system… Please sign this petition and let’s start with the resentencing of Gregory Sharkey Jr. so others just like him can have hope for a future outside the system.
